Mug swap 2014

I joined in with Cupcake Mumma's (Hannah Brooker) mug swap again this year and it was fun, once again! I was matched with Debbie Jeffery, who told me, amongst other things, that she likes horses and writing and all things to do with the post. I found a mug with postcards on it and decided to make a mug rug to go with it. I used some horsey fabric for one side and made the other like a postcard, complete with appliqued stamp and message. I even made a card (not really my 'thing') and embellished it with some rather attractive stamps from South Africa and Swaziland.

I told Debbie that poppies are my favourite flowers and she sent me not one, but two beautiful poppy mugs and a lovely variety of hot chocolate, tea and coffee to have in my mugs.

Thank you to Debbie for my mugs and thank you to Hannah for organsing the mug swap!

Easter/Spring swap

My swap partner, Hannah of Cupcake Mumma, has received her parcel so I can post photos of the contents now.

The instructions were to put the items in a margarine or ice-cream tub and wrap it in a piece of fabric. Hannah told me that she doesn't do much sewing so I thought I would rather put the tub in a drawstring gift bag. She also told me that she likes pinks and, of course, cupcakes!

The tub contained the following:

A mug rug and four coasters made with cupcake fabric;

a shopping tote and zip-up make-up bag or bag for little odds and ends;

and four chocolate bunnies and two fluffy chicks to fit in with the Easter/Spring theme. The shopping tote can be rolled up and popped into your handbag so that it is ready for unexpected items you might just be tempted to buy!

It was fun putting the swap together so 'thank you' to Joy for organising it!
